Anyone within an hours drive of Waterloo Region have a DLASK modified Remington 870 with 8.5” and pistol grip?

I'm considering buying one, and would like to ensure my wrists will take it first.

I just purchased a Dlask SMD-12. I was expecting the shotgun as pictured in the canadian canadian access to firearms, but instead of the pistol grip model I recieved an 8.5" model with composite stock. I understand that the pistol grip model is illegal as its overall length is less then 26".

Double check with Dlask and make sure the pistol grip model is not illegal. The pistol grip model is only 18" long in total length but the one he sent me is about 28" overall lenght.

i live 20 mins from dlask... and will be going to see joe about the Very Short factory made 870 that everyone is confused about.... AND 1)YES they are currently legal and 2)YES they are non restricted. If you bought an 870 action and chopped a barrel to 8 inches.... this would not be legal. HOWEVER dlask is a firearms manufacturer and the shorty 870's are manufactured that way, thus under current laws #1 and #2 above apply. Good luck to joe and his crew while they take this very issue to court.
think about this now.... if you buy one under a nonrestricted only PAL... and dlask loses the court case... what will that mean for folks that bought one.
I wonder if it would automatically qualify me for the prohib class rather than having to turn in the gun. Either way... I'm buying one and will wait patiently for the results of the court case.
