Winchester dynapoints for accuracy and bulk range fun, velocitors for dispatching wounded geese on the golf course at work, CCI CB shorts for plinking in the maintenance yard at lunch... being the boss has it's advantages!

Not sure about everyone else here...I have an older [than dirt] cooey 64. They are notoriously "fussy" for what they'll feed. Mine has ALWAYS cycled CCI mini-mags. Kinda pricey compared to the bulk-bricks. As a result, buying "un-tested" bulk .22 ammo can be a bit frustrating...
Based on this (8 page) read I just picked up a box of 525 federals from SFRC (21.99 vs. 30$'s at Can-Tire...don't buy 'em all up, I'll want more!) and, WOOOOHOOOO the 'ol cooey LOVES them which means I do to!!!!

federal bulk packs. tried thunderbolts and the brick I got was the dirtiest and most inconsistent for ftf, undercharged and just plain bad. And it was pricey compared to the federal packs.
ya....I found Thunderbolts to be dirty and low quality too. 
The CTC near me wants $31 for a brick for them!! I've only seen 1 move out of there display case in over a year.
I guess i'm not the only one that feels that way......

Thunderbolts are crap and they're $32.00 / box? My buddy gets like 10% jams and FTF in his 10/22 but my plinkster eats them nicely but why would I spend more when I can buy American Eagles, Fiochhi, or CCI Blazers for $25.00 / box?
In terms of accuracy, here's what I find:
Tested in a 10/22, plinkster 702, ruger 10/22, walther p22, Norinco JW25a, and Mossberg 26c I found:
1) CCI Blazer
2) American Eagle
3) Fiocchi 40g standard
4) Thunderbolts (FTF's and jams)
5) Dynapoints
6) Win333 <--- Worst accuracy ever omfg never sight in a scope with this sh it
I tend to stay away from high velocity rounds because I find the accuracy not as good. This could all be in my head though because I've never done any semi-decent testing.
EDIT: I swear by those Fiochhi's as the ultimate .22lr round in my JW-25a. I have never had a FTF in 3000 rounds and this year I bagged a grouse at 100m standing (and shaking with excitement).

Out of my Anschutz 64 the CCI Blazers work great.Very accurate.I just shot my highest standing score so far with them last night.If I'm getting serious then I switch to Eley Tenex....but I can't afford to shoot that stuff all the time.

My coeey 64 loves CCI blazers, as read in this post. The great news? SFRC (sponser above) has BOTH 525 bulk packs in Federal and, CCI Blazers. Brace yourself...they're lower priced there than Wally or Can-tire!!!!!!!

Sorry...upon re-read it seems I'm gloating! Regarding distances...lol I live in the middle of nowhere and, have to go near SFRC on my way to somewhere...not only cheaper than the big stores...for me, it's far closer!

Funny, my 10/22's both like the 333's more than dynapoints and powerpoints and are tied with American Eagle. Haven't tried the rest.
Winchester xpert's are just as accurate, but too dirty to use all the time.
Of course, I also need to have good expansion on gophers, and for that the xperts and 333's are very good, much better than the federal bulk pack (also so-so in accuracy).
cci velociters are probably the best I've tried for accuracy in my guns.
Guess I'll try some blazers next.

I went to the range yesterday with a purpose in mind. Testing ammo, gun accuracy.
First...guns used.
Mossberg 144lsb (circa 1960)
Marlin 990L (circa 1970)
Mossberg 151 (circa 1947)
Ammo used.....(All bulk packs)
A/E solids
A/E hollow points
Federals hollow points
Winchester 333
Winchester dyna points
Winchester hollow points
Distance for this test. 50 yards
The !44lsb shot all brands with precision ( 1 inch group or less) except the Federals....what is the matter with this stuff?(JUNK)
The Marlin 990L fired all except the solids within acceptable groups ( 1 1/2 inch)
the Mossy 151 shot everything except the Federals, they would FTF, FTE and not even cycle the gun. Very acceptable groups for the rest using a 60 year old gun ( 1 1/2 inch).
Definitely headed out to find more of the Winchester 333s. Absolute heaven in my test. I did find that each gun I have likes different brands perhaps, but due to expense ( I shoot huge numbers) I have to take the best ammo that operates in all the guns I critter shoot with.
Just my little 2 cents worth. Gunna try a Marlin 81, Winchester 490 and a Mossberg 152 next.

I bought a bunch of of that Winchester-wally-world stuff in .22LR for my MkII GL.
What a frakken mistake. Accuracy sucks, and they jam up alot when I don't let the gun cool down.
Now I know to go to crappy tire and pay the extra five bucks for a bulk-box of Blazer. Shoots like a frikken' laser-beam out of that same gun, and cycles with 100% reliability.
For my .22wmr, it seems to have a fondness for the dirty Winchester stuff, however lacking in terminal power it may be, say, compared to the CCI TNT Dynamite stuff.

+1. Same here. I ordered 5 packs of 100 from Epp's before I even tried them in my rifle (Not doing that again
). Was really excited as I also heard great things.
