X2 . Mountain moulds has some excellent designs.
I use the 330 grain Lyman because it works. It's not an accuracy champion, but not bad.

The Saeco 405gr. FP PB and it's twin the 465gr.FP GC are consistantly the most accurate bullets in various .45s smokeless or black, tested in probably a dozen diff. .45s including Marlins, NEFs, Rugers, .45/90s, 45/100s. The 465 gr. is the bullet Mitchell uses in his book on the 45/70, he loads that bullet to 2000fps and has pictures of groups under 1" at 100 yds, ask him. I have occasion to shoot at least 10 dif. cast bullets of .45 cal. and those 2 Saecos are tops!!
If I remember correctly, the 465 gr. saeco is to long to function through a 1895 Marlin if seated to the crimping groove. You can get around this by modifying the ejector and ejection port, or trimming the cases shorter than normal LOA. I can't remember if the amount needed is .050 or .100. I think the spec's are on Reddings website. I talked to a Redding tech. about this bullet, he got angry when I asked him if RCBS handles would work on Redding-Saeco molds.!
I use the Saeco 425gr spire point for CBA competition, use 25gr 2400, gas check, 20:1 lead & tin lubricated with Canadian Tire moly grease. Have twice shot 4 - 5 shot groups that averaged under 1" at 100yds, and that's with aperature sights on a rolling block. That mold suits my rifle better than any other I've tried. Have had individual groups under 0.7"at 100yds.
Needless to say, I'd try this a 300yds.
