Favourite Cheap, Beater Shotgun?

My Mossberg 535 has been a reliable do-all shotgun that has taken a beating and keeps on ticking. Has been more reliable than death and taxes to me. But if I was buying a gun to purposely beat the crap out of it would be a cheap break action single shot of some variety, or possibly a double as others have mentioned.

Still my favourite of all my guns is my break action, exposed hammer, H&R (NEF) 20 gauge with a fixed mod choke. Bought it for 80 bucks brand new and has been used, tossed, dropped, thrown around, bounced in the back of more than a couple of pick-up trucks and still goes bang.

Unfortunately can't get them anymore but in a similar style, if you are looking for new, Pointer (Turkish made/Legacy Sports) makes essentially the same gun in the common shotgun calibers or if you like the folding style (otherwise the same specs), a couple of the Turkish brands produce that with Investarms (Italian made) makes a pretty nice model - again in .410, 20 and 12 for sure (because we carry them at work) - also available in O/U folding...

X2 on that. I used to have 2 of them in 20 ga.; the regular size and the youth model. I still have the little youth model and it (along with slugs) goes with us on our canoe-camping trips for use is case of emergency.
