Favourite Gun Cleaner and Lube

Any opinions on Rem 40X bore cleaner, you know the grey stuff that you have to shake the bottle ?
If i clean with Hoppe's 9 my barrels and then put some of that stuff in (40X), you should see the crap that is still left in there by the first cleaner.
Hoppe's 9 can take some copper out , but power residus are still well left in.
The Rem 40X seems to clean very well breach face's and extractors areas in pistols.

What about Rem bore brite, I have a bottle at home but haven't had tha chance to try it out.

I use G96 on all my guns. I find Ballistol works amazingly well also, but I'm the only person in the house who can stand the smell. I actually think ballistol smells pretty good.

Another G96 vote here. And yes, it smells awesome. I've been playing with Hoppe's Elite bore cleaner and the copper remover as well. Results are good so far.

I use FP-10 to lube the smaller moving parts, STOS for the hinge pins and joints on my O/U and SXS guns, and G-96 as a final layer of protection. I use brake cleaner to remove plastic from wads.

i'm about a week into my switch to froglube and so far I am wishing I switched sooner.
former hoppes user, I love hoppes solvent and oil but it makes the whole house (OK apartment) reak and the missus really hated it, no more issues with froglube,
after cleaning and handling firearms washing my hands is much more affective and easier.
FL even smells pleasant, and yes I tasted it... just like aquafresh toothpaste.

Seems like there's lots of common likes out there. Here's some of my tried and true products I've used over the years.

Home made Ed's Red...the best for plastic wad residue removal, degreasing, soaking, long term storage...it "metal creeps" real well

G96......................I also put that chit on everything

Hoppes #9............Pretty good all round old school bore cleaner....besides, I love the smell so much I have air fresheners with it!

Break Free........... for those impossible jobs....most times accompanied by one or two of the others listed here.

Copper B Gone.............for removing copper from barrels and I use it on any initial patching on any bore cleaning job for someone else.

Hmmmmm....guess I'm gonna have to find me some Frog Lube too by the sounds of things !

annnd there's a whole pile of other stuff I've tried too...outers, gunslick, remoil, browning oil...etc...etc..etc but I kept going back to the above list
