Why are you thinking of telling Bell to shove it?
Scott
1. They have sent me to collections for non payment of a Sympatico Internet bill which never ever even transmitted one packet of data in either direction. I cancelled it after they had sent out a few techs who all came to the conclusion that DSL would not work in our house. They kept sending bills, I kept calling their oh so helpful 800 numbers and sorting it out, just to get another bill. I got fed up and escalated it to the Executive Office of Bell, who went through their amazing process that involved only responding to Sympatico email addresses, which of course we didn't have as the service had never worked...etc etc etc..Anyway, we tried to sort it all out on a number of occasions over a number of months and it never got sorted. They sent our "delinquent" account to collections who now harass us. All over about $60 that we never owed in the first place.
2. They magically alter our user agreements for phone and cell phones as well as cancelling plans that we have had in place for years without informing us. I am sure that it is buried somewhere on the B*** web site, but life is too short and if I was to want to make changes to my agreement I have to inform them instead of just going ahead and doing it...waiting for them to complain and then directing them to my web site. Probably legally OK, morally and customer service wise...out to lunch.
3. Having the worst call centre/customer service/tech help line outsourcing that I have ever come in contact with. New levels of frustration have been experienced since dealing with their various evil incarnations.
4. Monopolistic behaviour with cell phones. The rest of world allows free texting, free incoming cell calls, free everything basically if you pay for the plan that suits you. B*** have a plan, then charge a system access fee, a 911 fee, a (INSERT NAME OF FEATURE HERE) fee....ad nauseum.
5. They screwed up our bills when they switched to the wonderful "One" billing system and went after us *again* trying to collect money when we had bank statements to prove that we were actually $230 in credit with them instead of (once again a huge amount) $67 in debt with them.
I am sorry to harp on, but all in all they blow goats and I have had enough of their terrible service. I have tried and tried every avenue I can think of to get my issues serviced by them and all it does is take up minutes and hours that I'll never get back again. My hourly rate as a contractor is between $75 and $125/hour when I do my own contract work. I'd guesstimate how much they owe me for my time, not including the values that you can't put on the stress caused in a family when Daddy gets off the phone mad...again.. runs into the low tens of thousands over the last eight years as a ballpark.
I guess to sum it all up. When I buy a service from someone I expect a few things.
1. For it to work as advertised
2. To pay what was agreed.
3. To kick back and relax knowing that 1 and 2 are taken care of.
On a side note, your channel is very good entertainment and has provided much enjoyment to all of my friends who still use the evil satellite provider over the last month. Now be a good guy and call those nice people at Shaw and get your channel on Shaw cable or Shaw Digital instead of just Shaw on Demand. Both you and Shaw would see a large uptake of services especially in our area as I live in the Great White (and Rednecked) North.
Interestingly enough since moving Internet to Shaw I have paid what was advertised, had great service every time when I called them and recommend them to everyone in my area. (I am a network engineer) They are rolling out Digital Carrier phone service in the Sault in January. I'll give it a month to work out the bugs and bye bye Bell for our last service from you.
