Whats your Favourite single.
The RCBS I was using just went back to its old home and I want to replace it, but the new RCBS rockchucker is supposed to be different now in that it,ll take .50 cal dies.
I already have a .50 cal press and only want a similar press to the rockchucker I had.

What do you have/like or would like ?

My fav. has always been the Rockchucker, until now, I think my new C0-ax is a real joy to use, if it lasts as long as my Rockchucker I'll be real happy.

As part of my recent equipment upgrade, RCBS Rockchucker RC IV. To echo sentiments already expressed, RCBS customer service is second to none. It matches the assistance & info freely given by their tech department.

I'd get the Redding Big Boss because I load long 300 WMs and the 416 Rigby. Both are a PITA with a small window press, which my Rockchucker is.

However, my RC has loaded a lot of rounds for me and I have a few rifles that make small groups with those loads. Does the press have something to do with it?

Single stage? Ugh!... if I have to choose: RCE Walnut Hill. Give me something that I can do more than just reload on.

...favourite press?....

...it's gotta be the old (discontinued) RCBS "Big Max" A4...or maybe it's the old (discontinued) CH #333...or maybe the Hollywood Jr. ...or maybe the Dunbar...or maybe.....?????....

Yes single stage, yes the press DOES make a difference and it's for loading precision rifle rounds.
I already have an RCBS 50 BMG set up
I already have a progressive Lee for pistols etc.
I already have 2 MEC presses 1 for 12 ga. 1 for 410 ga.
I need a solid single but don't wanna use a press the size of the 50 bmg set up for loading lots of rifle rounds. (6 PPC and 6 BR)

Mike.

p.s. lee prog. wouldn't bump the shoulders for the BR.

Can't remember when I bought my Rockchucker, but I had a lot less grey hair back then and its worked well for me.
The RCBS warranty for their products is second to none....but a few years ago I bought a then-new Lee Classic cast press because I was loading 45-120 cases and the small opening in the Rockchucker was a pain to work with.
Since then I started loading 50 BMG with the Lee and it works great.
Still use the 'Chucker, but the Lee is much cleaner to use and has a nice priming set-up.

My bench is becoming a little too cluttered what with the Lee, the 'Chucker, a Dillon 550, a Forster Co-Ax, and an old CH 3 station press...long overdue for some house-cleaning......

New press

O.k. thanks guys,
I bought my new one........I got the new Rockchucker Supreme, Two reasons, 1) RCBS is nearly bullet proof 2) It was in stock and I needed it right away.

It seems to work real nice and I don't end up stepping on primers, this one catches em like the 50 press so they don't get in my socks and land in the wash machine.

I'm sure the wife will appreciate that anyways.

Mike.
