Favourite supper in deer season

good stuff

don't know about it being a western thing but it's basically balls of bisquick dough boiled in chicken broth with of course... chicken. may be more to it than that but that's the gist of it anyways. i've never acctually made them myself but i sure love eating them.
That is correct, and they are really, really good.

We had smoked fish potatoes and carrots. Swordfish steaks, Maple deer sausage, Mesquite pork ribs. All washed down with Forty Creek whiskey.

Finally tried a spiral ham last week and it reminded me of this thread. I don't even care for ham but that was awsome, especially afterwords on italian bread.

O ya.. dumplings, blurry pic, but here they are:D

Nothing beats some nice, fresh tenderloins marinaded in the fridge in buttermilk overnight, and then coated in a nice rub consisting of chicken stock powder, Montreal steak spice, and some fresh ground garlic. Spit-roasted to medium rare over a nice apple-wood or cedar fire with mashed potatoes and gravy. Thickly sliced French bread roasted over the fire with a nice butter/fresh-ground garlic spread, and you're there.

For breakfast, some fried deer breakfast sausage patties, with fried eggs, some sliced fruit, nice thick slices of French bread roasted over the fire and buttered, and a hot mug of hot chocolate.

My mouth is watering...
