Fd 12?

Good Evening,

Thought I give a little update. Have been in contact with Odell and they did agree the pin is very tight, they asked me to try reinstalling the pins in a different order. The pin is easier to install but I believe its due to some wear and rounding on the pin holes. As far as I can tel the lower does not quiet line up, and the rear pin being tight is just the symptom.

I have over 400 rounds through it now. It does take about 150 she’ll to break in. I used what i had which was target load with 1300 FPS being the strongest. After that It would cycle 1 oz 1200 FPS shells reliably. After the 300 shell mark it would cycle 1145 FPS shells reliably, so pleased about that.

The factory mags work well, but can be over inserted, and the bolt release would not function. Normal mag insertions works just fine.
Some one I known purchased 3, 10 rd AS 46 mags, two work good but one has issues where it wound would feed a shell at all, or jam a shell. Of course no bolt hold open on the AS 46 mags.

The trigger is stiff, but does soften up slightly after some use. The sights and the vertical grip are cheap but functional. The aluminum upper seems to be well made, it does get a little warm if dumping a few mags. There is a good amount of muzzle rise with higher velocity shells, got a grizzly works muzzle break ordered.

I’m not a fan of bullpups, but this one fits good and is a lot fun to shoot.

Please share your experience on bulk ammo (both slugs and shot) that works reliably with FD12?
Also - any solution to "overinsertion" of mags that leads to issues with bolt release? I noticed it several time and just read above about what's causing it, wonder if that is something that can be fixed.

After break in it has worked reliably with all bulk ammo I have used so far, challenger, Winchester and AZ-20, including 1oz 1200 FPS shells, with stock mags, although if you pull the trigger as fast as you can, you can have some jams, where the shell stove pipes between the mag and chamber.

I’m looking to buy the lefty Fd12.
Do anybody know if derya mags will fit in the Fd12? They look very similar. I never took my Derya one up to check.
Also if the chokes are interchangeable? It looks like above posts may say the old barrels used Mobil but new ones are different.
I have one of the banned derya and hoping the parts may fit to start reusing.
Thanks.

I've heard mixed reports but yes the MK12 mags apparently work in the FD12. They have the same side latch. Not sure about last round bolt hold open though.

Something I was wondering was if the MK12 barrel shroud would fit the FD12??

Also, are all the polymer lowers on the new ones black? Only the uppers are colored?

I recently got an FD12. Rear locking pin was almost impossible to get out. Took it back to store and armorer looked at it and said was bent. Sending it back as I tore it down before firing to clean it. Soaked in oil. Getting a replacement one in a week or so.
