Picked up this Browning 1900 at the Wolverine Surplus sale.
This is the first production handgun to use a slide.
Though over 700,000 were made from 1900 to 1910, the serial number here is in the 3 digit range...making it one of the first runs of model 1900s.
Love all things FN and Browning.

Very nice, I'd love to get my mitts on one, but like WaffenMitUns I had to settle for a 1903 and a 1922.

I thought about that one but as it was a prohibited and I don't have the license for those, I couldn't bear to see it dewated just so I could buy it. I have a Husquvarna 1907 already and will p/u a Browning 1922.

Here are three reference books that I purchased back in February for my 'work in progress' Polish military display. Unfortunately written mostly in Polish (Google Translate is my good buddy) but Polski Mundur wojskowy has English captions for all the photos.

There is a reference to my father during the Battle of Falaise in Nowak's book. Also when he was wounded during the fighting around Breda in Holland 1944.

I havent bought a milsurp in a long while, my feb purchase was this 1916 made Mannlicher-Berthier 1907/15 made by St.Etienne.

Just don't tell anyone, it may burst my bubble. ;)

Nice Berthier. Matching? Did it come from Wolverine?

Thanks Claven. Keeping in mind I have never delved into French military rifles prior to this, I think it is. The barrel shank matches the bolt, floorplate and stock, and there aren't any serials on the receiver. The chap I bought it from brought it over from the UK 15 years ago or so.

Agreed. Nice Berthier. What a month February was for French rifles. Wow.

Make sure you add the pics to the "French military rifle ####" thread here in the Milsurps forum.
