Hello Guys , I am shooting 303 number 4 and a 1. I use federal ammo in them with a 180 grn bullet. I found out that Federal uses Serria bullets so I have that covered. Does anyone know what powder they use? or how I can find out?

Commercial ammo is loaded with powder often similar to canister powders sold to handloaders, but it is not the same.

Your rifle will probably shoot well with 37 to 38 gr of 4895. You can try more, but the powder would probably open the groups.

I don't know what powder they use, but the powder that I've settled on for any bullets between 150 and 180 grains in the .303 British is IMR 4320. It has worked in a number of different rifles (giving the best combination of consistent accuracy and velocity), and it is relatively common and easy to get.
