Doing some reading and I've seen that Tavors are known for an aggressive firing pin and can penetrate thinner primer cups (especially match/bench rest grade) causing detonation out of battery. I have 1000 Federal 205s that I was planning to use for reloading for my Tavor but now I'm a little apprehensive. Anyone with experience using 205s for a Tavor/any rifle with a heavy pin?

Thanks!

I've used 205's for reloading in my Tavor (along with various others - depends what has been available locally for the most part), haven't had any issues whatever the brand/type.

I stopped using Federal primers after getting Slam fires in my BD44,only use CCI 200 now,no more problems in any of my sem's.
I always do a test with a new to me semi by putting a round together(with NO powder of course) and see what kind of imprint the firing pin leaves on the primer.
Should the primer go off you only have to deal with a bullet stuck in the barrel which is easy to remove.

The Federal primer mix is noticeably more sensitive than the mix used by the other companies. I use it in guns with ignition issues.

I would not use Federal primers in any semi-auto rifle. I have had a number of instances where Federal primers went off when they should not have - like in my Lee Autoprime.
