Federal 714 Standard Velocity

Anyone have any experience with this ammunition?

I found a few bricks laying around and I'm not familiar with this specified load.

I've shot it, it very close to Federals gold medal 711b Not bad stuff.

The Biathlon club at my range trains with this stuff but shoot better stuff in Competitions.

Federal 714 .22 is an non catalog item, which mean the factory will do a run every year or 2, its a budget grade standard velocity ammo rank below 711b but shot much better in my experience than the American Eagle brand, several shooters and myself buy cases of them at a time when its available for use in our target pistols, while its not match grade, it does shot quite well and cycle much more reliably than the CCI SV with hardly any duds.

Price should around $3.50 or so for box of 50, a case of 5000 can be had for $325 give or take a few dollars.

What do they shoot in competition?

Lapua Polar Biathlon usually when the temps gets really low, Standard plus works well for -5C and above.
