Out shooting today and thought I would fire off some Federal American Eagle 55gr FMJ in 223 Rem. At 100m it grouped about 1.5", pretty much what I expected (not much effort on my part).
Had my gong out at 400m and thought I would give it a few shots. The results were quite surprising. 5 shots fired. First shot was a sighter for the slight wind. Next four shots all tight. Group of 4 measured 1.1" centre to centre at the widest. Has anyone else had groups like this with cheap ammo? The rifle I was shooting is a CZ527 Varmint with Nikon Monarch scope.
