Federal Black Pack 1100rd .22LR any good?

I shot 50 round groups at 25 meters using CCI mini-mag 36 gr HP, older Federal Black Box 36 gr HP, and new Federal Black Box 36 gr HP. All the groups were chronographed using my Gamin Xero. I forgot my rear bag and had to use my jacket.

The photo labeled first target were my first groups after sighting in my rifle. It's a Ruger 10/22 with an inexpensive 16 inch barrel I bought 20 years ago. It's a factory receiver and factory trigger (with internals polished).

The photo labeled last target were the last rounds I fired today. For both groups I fired 5 10 round mags and allowed the rifle to cool for a couple minutes before switching ammunition.

Chronograph

CCI mini-mag 1190 fps
Federal Black Pack older 1260 fps
Federal Black Pack new 1160 fps

I'm glad I stocked up because this ammo is no longer on sale. It ran flawlessly through my rifle and is adequate for bringing with me on my annual pilgrimage to shoot prairie dogs in Alberta.

the weather didn't cooperate but I did my best. This is plinking ammo at best.
only 2 failure to fire in 250 shots, both in the bolt action.

legi0n, thanks for those pics. That and Homer's chrono data shows that the 'New stuff' isn't the same quality as the 'Old'. The Old was 'hotter' per the Garmin and that correspond with my experience with it. Back 4-5 years ago it was 'good enuf' in my Marlin 60 and Sav-64. Prob really good as a hunting round under 25-30 yds. since it's HP, tho nothing much around here in E. NB to hunt.
