I recently bought 2 boxes of the Fed 250 round black packs in .22 Mag Had my 22 Mag pistol out today and had 2 cases rupture at the head in 27 rounds. Checked barrel and slide and ran 50mini mags thru with no issue.
I have run CCI and Hornady with no issue. Just wondering if anyone else has had an issue?
Thanks

Not with .22 mag, don't own one, but federal 17HMR will often split the case neck of the case in my CZ455. About one in 5. Because of these case failures, the accuracy is crap with federal ammo. BTW, Federal Bulk .223 is about the least accurate factory .223 ammo you can buy. 10" groups at 100 yards vs. 3/4" groups with my home loads out of my AR.

CCI, Winchester and Remington all shoot very well in my 17, and no issues with cases.

That being said, Federal Automatch .22 works very well, and shoots very accurately in both my High Standards.

Thanks Meroh I'd be less bothered if it was just neck splitting, this was the primed "head" of the case the last one left a perfect disk with F headstamp in the magazine. I'm going too contact Federal today.
