My wife has a Mark IV 22/45 lite and a Ruger 10/22 take down. Both of them love the federal black label stuff.
The take down had the overspray on the inner receiver scrubbed down with a scotch bright pad, top of the bolt polishes and the rear of the bolt radiusd slightly just with sand paper to aid in cycling. This was done very early in the life of the firearm so can't really comment on "before". I know after words there is no problems running the federal stuff.
Perhaps there is something interfering with the bolt cycling that is the root cause of the issues.
