Federal Black pack, too good to be true?

My wife has a Mark IV 22/45 lite and a Ruger 10/22 take down. Both of them love the federal black label stuff.

The take down had the overspray on the inner receiver scrubbed down with a scotch bright pad, top of the bolt polishes and the rear of the bolt radiusd slightly just with sand paper to aid in cycling. This was done very early in the life of the firearm so can't really comment on "before". I know after words there is no problems running the federal stuff.

Perhaps there is something interfering with the bolt cycling that is the root cause of the issues.

Your wife sounds like a woman to style and taste. Gave mine a pretty good cleaning recently and will be looking forward to a chilly range day to try it out :D

Hi - Last Nov (Black Friday) BassPro had the 1600 boxes on sale for $79.97 + 15% = 91.97, less $25 USD rebate ( $31CDN last Dec ) = @ 0.038125 / rnd !! Hoping they will repeat the sale - I don't need 4800 rounds:rolleyes: as I still have a few hundred of the BP left and about 2000 other brands.;)
I have a Savage 64 and Marlin 60 and both cycle and this is the most accurate in both guns. I can get around 3/4-1" @ 50 a lot of the time with just a 3-9 scope. The Marlin is marginally more accurate with this ammo, while the Savage likes the Fed Auto-Match a bit better. I, like others, also believe the Fed BP is the same product as the CCI 36g HP.
note - I just checked BassPro website (US$$) and the 1600 is $69.97. If Federal comes thru with a rebate later this month that'll be the buy.

Nice, I've been looking at some savage MKs's to complete the rim fire action collection lol.
