Before I go and buy 1000 standard large 210 large rifle primers from federal, are they gonna make any noticable difference to loads I've made with the gold medal match primers? Cause the gold medals are out of stock for the foreseeable future at my normal places and Cabela's shipping is pretty silly... The primers themselves are actually cheaper though.

Large Rifle Standard

CCI 200 - mild in brisance. Hard enough for use in semi-automatics.
CCI BR2 - same as the 200 but the match version. Hard enough for use in semi-automatics.
Federal 210 - medium brisance between CCI/Remington & Winchester. Do not use in semi-automatics.
Federal 210M - match version of the above primer. Do not use in semi-automatics.
Magtech PR-LR
Remington 9 ½ - mild in brisance.
RWS 5341
Winchester WLR - the hottest standard primer. Hard enough for use in semi-automatics.
Wolf/Tula Large Rifle LR #KVB-7 - all brass - "For Standard Rifle loads".
Wolf/Tula Large Rifle #KVB-7,62 - "For 7,62 NATO cartridges"

If you can't get your usual primer you don't have much of a choice anyway. I doubt you will have to do much tweaking to get your load back up to snuff if it changes.

I've loaded up a few semis with the gold medals with no problem. Basically what I read is that the guys say they notice no difference. I've only ever used CCI in my front stuffer and like em but never considered them for my rifles. I started with gold medals cause that's what I found when I first started cause that's all I could find locally and they worked good so I stuck with them. I can get CCI for cheap maybe I should get a bunch of them?

The concern is with the printer's sensitivity. All Large Rifle primers are .027" thick but sensitivity will vary. If you shoot them in a gun without a firing pin spring there is the chance the round could be set off during the cycling of the action.

I have been asking myself the same question.
Loaded up some 308 43.5gr 4064 168gr hornady BTHP.
15 of each, CCI BR-2, CCI 200, Fed 210, and Fed 210M

Shooting off a bench at 100yds. Wouldn't say I'm the best shot or it's a real scientific test. But this was my findings:

Shot 5-3 shot groups.

Got the slightest flattening of primers with the Federals vs the CCI. But I think the CCI are a harder primer.

A slight edge in accuracy to the Fed. But no noticable difference between the Match or the regular primer in either brand.

For some reason the 210M are easy to find around here. CCI are tough.

Guess I'm sticking with feds then. So no difference between the match and regular besides a couple bucks eh? I couldn't see there being any cause they come off the same line. Now Remington quit making components apparently... Been buying up their brass when I can since I heard that. Love Remington brass, can load it a billion times and it forms back real easy... Like Hornady too though.

The Match primers are supposedly more consistent than the regular ones. Federal says they're produced on a line staffed with their most experienced people. You can decide for yourself whether that's BS or not.

They all come off the same production line, same people. Quality control and testing is ongoing. The best lots become the match primers. I read that in one of the gun magazines years ago. Whether or not that is BS I have no idea but it sounds reasonable.

My findings weren't really done in a controlled environment. But for the average hunting load I don't think anyone or anything would notice.
