Federal GMM Brass for M14

I'm well aware that American Eagle ammunition is not recommended by many for the M14/ M1A. I'm not trying to rekindle that debate. I have a bunch of once fired Federal GMM brass and since I have several hundred Norma brass for my bolt gun I'm wondering if I should try this in my M14's. They are all tight chambered, M1A, LRB, JRA and I wouldn't push my luck. I'm thinking 3 reloads and out.

Anyone else use better quality Federal brass to reload for M14? How has it worked for you? I have other brass available but would just like to use it up.
 
Federal brass is pretty much universally regarded as undesirable for reloading. Primer pockets are gone after 2-3 reloads. Makes it a good candidate for plinking or three gun where you will not be collecting your brass.
 
Seafury, I would say go ahead under one important condition.

Make doubly sure that when you seat your primers in the resized brass (with a hand held tool) that there is sufficient resistance to the fresh primer seating in the pocket.

Anything feeling loose where the primers seat much too easily, I would discard them immediately. And a final check for all primed cases, that the primer is not sitting high.

I have a Polytech, and this is my normal procedure.

I'm using Federal brass to reload for my M1A and it works fine. As long as you do your standard checks to make sure the brass is in check, don't trim more than twice as that point the brass is probably starting to thin, your good to go. If you only get 2-3 reloads, hey that's better than nothing.
 
Only Federal brass I'd want to use in mine is Lake City, from Federal XM80. But it's also 7.62x51 so a little thicker case.
 
My question is pretty specific. I have 1000 IVI that I can use. Just want to find a home for this stuff and with 400 Norma for my XTR I won't need it there. Don't want to toss it.
