Federal Gold Medal Match Primers Embargo

What's going with Federal Gold Medal Match primers these days? More specifically their small and large rifle primers, 205M and 210M. Most places have been out of stock for a long time. I haven't seen any 1000 primer bricks for sale in over a year. Is the demand too high? The supply too low? Both?

I'd be in the market for 5000 each of 205M and 210M.

Why Federal? I've fired over 2000 210M primers in the last 2 years without a single failure.

I'm currently using CCI400 for .223, I've already had 2 failures in 400 primers. One misfire, one pierced primer around the firing pin.

I still have about 1600 210M primers on hand and I'd definitely like a couple thousands of 205M so I can move on from the CCI400.

Does anyone have any leads? Who in Canada has bricks for sale?
 
I got 15k of 205M from swamp donkey outdoors a couple months ago........as they came into his possession they went out the door and into mine, prior to that I couldn't find them anywhere. Then a quick call to Rustywood netted me 10K CCI 450's, topped that up with 15K 400's from somewhere else that alludes me right now..........

I had no problem finding primers............

That's good to know, thanks. I have no interest in CCI primers. I sent en email to Swamp Donkey Outdoors to see what Federal primers they have left in stock.
 
I got a few thousand of the 205M from lawry's earlier this year and some BR2's which have been rare as well.
I only loaded a dozen with the 205M's, had a lot of elevation and since i got no time to deal with it I went back to cci-450's for now until I can properly test with the 205m's and see what might work.
shot about 2000 of the 450's so far, mostly FTR and some pretty solid loads and no issues with any yet.
 
I haven't seen 210M for a long time either. I have 5000 of the Dominions, have experienced quite a few misfires (6 or so) in the first 400-500 fired. Misfires in 3-4 different cartridges. Not primers I use in my hunting ammo that's for sure!!!! :eek:
 
I've been able to get them.no.problems from whole sale sports.

Heck couple.months back they were on sale. I bought 10k of each.. and 5 k small rifles for my pistol.

Wholesale sports online had 10000 of 205M. I bought 5000. I had to pay price per 100 though so that's not great, but at least I have something to go with until I can find bricks of 1000 again. They were out of 210M, I'm thinking you might had something to do with that... LOL
