Federal or Remington brass?

I use Winchester and Rem mostly. Have loaded both over 25x with some loads. Federal I usually only load 2x then the pocket is loose.

I don't have much first hand experience with Remington RP brass, but I have had mostly negative experiences when it comes to reloading Federal FC brass. In my experience, the Federal FC stamped cases shoot just about the same as anything else, but show serious pressure signs, and had extremely loose primer pockets at loads/velocities that have zero effect on Winchester brass.

Given your two options, and for hand loading, I'd definitely use the Remington.

Would I use Federal or Remington brass for reloading .223Remington? Yes

If it's just between these two, which would I choose? The one I have available at the time because I buy both as factory ammo, depending on price and availability. I don't believe the difference will be significant in my use of this ammunition. If I believed I had the very best reloading equipment to to make ammunition for high-level competition I think I wouldn't use either.

If I miss a coyote at 300m with my reloads in Remington or Federal or IVI or Winchester brass, it's unlikely to be the fault of my reloaded ammo and if it is that unlikely cause, it'll be some screw up in my process, not the maker of the brass.

I use Federal brass in my 243. It works fine and keeps on working. No loose primer pockets.

New info here. I just sized and cleaned some Federal brass and found fine cracks on the case body. I wish I new how many firings they've got. Id say a few. Ive never seen cases crack like this. I cut one open and can not see the crack on the inside but with one more firing they'd likely split.

Remington is definitely more constant in sizing, I have over 10000, Winchester whit box once shot reloads very well too.... Went through a few crates of Norinco yellow box plinking, and started reloading that and it is surprisingly as good or better. Lapua for the long range guns..... My vote on those two R&P
