Just wondering, does anyone have a Federal Ordnance folding stock for a 10/22 Ruger? Ever since I saw one in a pawn shop down in the states I really wanted one, but they are so hard to find. Just curious if anyone actually has one, and if so what are your opinions on it.

Here is a pic of one brand new, I believe it sold for $350+ on ebay a few years ago... damn they are cool.

Looks like a 25rd magazine would prevent it from folding. It seems to be that it'd be ugly looking, but I don't know.

That's the only thing that I don't like about it, you can't flip the stock back and forth with a 25 round mag. But believe it or not the stock looks very nice on a 10/22.

These are very old and highly collectible items.
I never owned one, but I handled a few.
I don’t know how they last in time,
as the owners (who realize their value) rarely use them.
As you can see, it is based on the AK style underfolder.

Thanks for this thread.

If you guys like the underfolders and have some basic shop skills,
you can make your own underfolder (for 10/22 and many other guns)
if you can find an AK underfolder stock
(and its trunion / folding-mechanism).

It is not overly complicated. Few other people did, including me.
You can make the lock/trunion internal to the stock
(like the one in these pix)
or external (like the VZ58 aftermarket underfolder).

For 10/22, the Butler Creek (that comes as a side-folder)
is a good stock that can accept the external adaptor.
