I've been offered a large amount of Federal XM855 62gr green tip ammo. The catch is I have to retail it for about $700 per 1000 rounds. It comes in an ammo can.

I'm not that up on XM855 pricing, what do you think?

This seems to be inline with current pricing. I am sure it will sell.

wow, thats very expensive!!!
PMC XTAC is about 200$ less and its doing a really good job for me, accurate and very clean burning.
is that true a new container is on it's way from Korea? ....just giving a heads up on a reliable rumor!!!!!
anyhow, i wont be buying @ 700+tx+shipping......will shoot .308 at that price.
just personnal opinion.....i might be totally wrong, feel fre to correct me.
 
I will wait for X-Tac... Especially if you sell at prices similar to what you sold in the past.
XM855 might (if...) be a bit better but not 25 cents a round better...

I'm only asking because I don't want to bring in something that won't sell. The price seems to be pretty in line with US retail plus the freight it takes me to get here.
 
US retail price bubble is about to burst....
Few months ago you couldn't get anything now you can get a "large amount" of 556 XM855
Sounds like they have to much of it now because people can't afford to buy more.
I think we are going to see some low prices in the near future.
 
I'll admit that I wouldn't buy it at that price...but it is in line with the high US pricing right now. Canadian buyers are a fickle bunch...I think you'd end up sitting on it for a while.

Gagnon Sports had the Federal XM855 on striper clips in a can for $220/420rds, but sold out very very fast. This was back in Feb/March IIRC.
 
I'd pass at that price.
Green tips are a novelty for the USGI fanboys in my opinion, i'm sure some will pick it up but realistically it does absolutely nothing for me that other ammo won't for less at the moment.

Not surprising, at that price point i'd likely pick some up.
 
Too rich for me, Chemist. I'd rather load the boat with .22 LR instead.

I was down in Seattle last week EVERY store had OODLES of .223 - all types. They all had almost NO .22 and strict limits on the .22 they were selling (1x 50-round box per customer).

$700 is a bit too rich for my blood, and I have too much of a bias from buying $550 (ish) PMC X-tac less than 6 months ago.

EDIT: TSE had it for $530 about 3 months ago - that's when I bought mine (it sold out quick though, IIRC):
