I know NCStar makes some real garbage but just like most other companies I am hoping they make something worth buying as I like the price of their M4 quad rail.

Anybody install this? What do you think? How easy was the installation?

Thanks In Advance.

Save up get a KAC RAS seen them Used on the EE for sub $200. Personally I'm against buying Chinese made stuff but it's up to you. If a company chooses to put out garbage willingly doesn't that say enough about the company and why you shouldn't buy it.

100%. Spend the money so you only have to spend it once. There are plenty of quality rails for sale in the EE, monitor that forum and you can often get a second hand Ferrari for the price of a Ford.

This has been the subject of vigorous debate before. Some will tell you, quite rightly, that the US made stuff is clearly superior - and, much more expensive. If you were using your AR for active duty or LE purpose I would agree but, for a range gun I say that the NcStar and UTG is perfectly fine if you wish to save your money for something else ( like ammo ). I ran a UTG rail on my S+W M+P15 for over a year with zero problems ( loctite the screws ) and the current owner has no issues either.

FWIW I have a UTG tri-rail on my Norc/USGI hybrid M14 and also no problems at all.

Never used a NCStar rail but have used some UTG rails and was very impressed with the quality of machining and finish. fit with pic and weaver rings and mounts have been spot on.

I know it rubs alot of people the wrong way but offshore stuff can be exceptionally good.

In fact, they are simply common name brand stuff without the official name brand.

In my recent quest to dress up my Norc M4, I looked at the Brownells site cause so much info is readily available.

A big part of 'buy USA' is the 'made in the USA' tag put with products. I figured it would all be made in the USA for the AR especially from the major name brands we know and appreciate.

Have a look and see how many actually wear the Made in the USA tag.

Might surprise you the number that DON'T.

A quality part is a quality part. some are made here, others elsewhere. Isreal makes a whole bunch of really great stuff. Not a place I would have considered.

Judge the product by how it is made and how it performs. country of origin may have little bearing on the end result.

Remember that every single iPhone, iPad, and most smart phones are made with Asian manf. A massive majority from one company.

They have the ability to make the best stuff in the world....Often times it is the Western Buyer that cheaps out on the specs.

:D Thanks guys. I spent my morning coffee break deciding. Everything I read and all the videos I saw pertaining to the NCStar quad rail seems to point to a sturdy design that should serve me well for the range and multigun matches. It should be arriving next week. :p Some things I read about NCStar scopes weren't as flattering.

I've never tried the NCStar rail, only seen it unmounted. As some mentioned, KAC, DD, etc make some of the best AR bits out there. However, it comes down to what your expectations are. If you are expecting to mount accessories and have a solid system for your job, usually it goes to say, pay for reliability.

If you are getting a quad rail because its for s**ts and giggles, it may not matter and NCStar may be cost efficient.

You can buy screw/nuts for ncstar products from a place call Pacific Fasteners, just like the name, they sell nuts, bolt, screws of all sizes, I stripped the hex nut on my SMS scope mount, PF find the right hex for me, $0.17 for the stainless steel ones.

One of the allan head screws stripped on mine first time I tried to tighten it. Good luck getting a new screw...
