I am considering purchasing a Stevens 512 Gold Wing O/U 20 gauge to shoot skeet. Can anyone give me some feedback on the firearm? Price is good, but maybe it is a lemon.

Sorry, I shouldn't have been so flippant. I am sure you could find a decent used autoloader for a good price, or even a pretty decent O/U. Beretta and Browning are always solid choices. However, if you are just going to be shooting skeet, there are a lot of good used O/U's around. SKB's are strong well built guns. There are always some Charles Daly O/U's around (made by Miroku, essentially a Citori), Winchester 101's, Rem 3200's (be a little careful, but a good gun), browning superposed etc. For newer guns, the Savage Milano has impressed me for value for money, and some of the newere Rizzinis can be had for a reasonable price.

I just fear with the Stevens, you wont be happy and will have a heck of a time re-selling it.

X2, I've seen and handled the Stevens and I don't think you'd be happy with it as a clays gun...

i had one in 12g, kept breaking firing pins, then when it came back from savage for the first pin repair it was returned with a bent rib.

stay away

No experience here with the Savage, but if you want to get into the O/U game it is best to follow gttsc's advice. Look at a Beretta, Browning or a used of the same name, a Winchester 101, SKB (I owned a 500 for a long while - great gun) etc. Ceasar Geurini's are very nice, but their entry price point is high and used one are hard to find.
