feeding problem

just made a trade and got a Remington 700 in 223, but when I fill up the mag and begin to shot the shells on the left side of the mag feeds fine but the shells on the right just fly out as soon as I pull the bolt out, and I can load 22-250 in the mag, also it's a older 700 with a newer stock and hinge floor plate, I am wondering if I have a follower for a 22-250 in it

Possibly... but try spreading the magazine box wider so it fits snug in the bottom of the action and make sure the bottom metal fits around it correctly when the screws are tight.
