Hey CyberK, are you able to find out if these new Falcon Menace 4.5-18X56IR have a 1-piece body or 2-piece like the older/regular 4.5-18x56?
Nevermind...I got a reply from Falcon this morning:
The Menace 4.5-18x56IR has a one piece main tube with a threaded objective section. This is consistent with probably 90% of scopes on the market.
Our Menace 4-14x44FFP on the other hand has a one piece main tube and objective section combined.
Bart, I have 4.5-18x56 models here that I could use as a hammer. Even then I wouldn't to separate the objective end from the main tube. What you have seen on the Internet was very unfortunate, I certainly wouldn't let it put you off purchasing any scope built from more than one section. Be it one of ours or any other manufacturer.
