Female hunting alone

Be careful hunting / shooting anywhere near native reserves, if you leave your car in the distance make sure it’s still in line of sight.

i routinely hunt and fish right near a first nations reserve..... heck I even lived 2km from the reserve for 3 years...... I never lock my truck..... ever...... and have never had my vehicle touched nor anything stolen..... not even the change in my cup holder.

Right. Someones car got trashed, and its her fault because shes a woman and doesn't know how to park. You guys are rich...

you assume it was a real event?

that car is not at the end of a road in a cutblock and looks to be blocking a 1 lane back road. Who would chain up and drag a car to intentionally block a road?
I'll stick with the story being fake news.
at best if it did happen..... sure ain't worth being concerned about LOL
I wonder if there is a police report documenting the event?

I don't know if it's real or not. However I have no reason to think it's a lie, particularly just because it's from a woman.

If the pictures were taken after whatever happened, how do we know it was blocking anything? The OP states "space to drive around", and while the pictures don't really tell you much about the area it doesn't look to be a particularly narrow road.

Also it would appear she said she parked 50yds from the end of the road? So it could be a dead end that we can't see in the picture.

Who really knows if it was hunters who were responsible for that or if it was even males. Lets be honest it was males.

Sadly I have seen some VERY bad behaviour in the bush. I haven't seen it a lot but a few times. Camping on crown land I have similar things to this sorry to say. Group of grown males drunk 24/7, crashing their four wheelers, lighting out of control fires, damaging cars at entrance ways, shooting guns in the air, yelling and swearing all night long, leaving garbage everywhere. It's pretty pathetic. I was frankly shocked the first time I saw this when I started crown land camping a decade ago, I didn't expect that behaviour from 40 year olds. Now when I see this I know what to expect so simply won't camp in the same area. I will drive half an hour away to another general area. Is what it is I guess.

Similar behaviour can be found in a city but it looks different. A$$holes can be found anywhere.

shouldn't be too hard to verify the story.
if it did happen there will be a police report
chetwynd is a small town, easy to make enemies in so ya just never know
it is also not unheard of to see rat bagged burnt out vehicles in the area.
For all we know that car could have ditched and the tow cable damage could just be from recovery.
I assume by the glass on the ground that the vehicle was dragged into that final position, which from all the pics , clearly show it blocking the road...... also not unheard of in areas north of chetwynd. I think the last winter elk trip we took down the end of the ###XX road..... I counted 7 burnt out cars that someone torched after joy riding.

could be a true story but the pictures don't make sense too me and don't fit the story being told..... so fake news till i see someone post a police report or a mention in the chetwynd news outlet

edit to add..... gender of the claimant has nothing to do with my comments in this thread. I would be equally suspicious if it was a male hunter.

What doesn't add up about the pictures? The fact that it is blocking the road makes you think its fake news?

As for the police report, its not like the police can do anything unless shes got something of use like pictures of the perps, maybe a license plate number, etc. Theres a reasonable chance that a report wasn't filed even if this was a true story.

no, it didn't add up at all from the get go.
You don't just sit in your treestand while someone destroys your ride out of grizzly country LOL
now that i have spoken to a few folks in the know up there..... I'll stick with my opinion

expanding on my opinion ? sure..... glad you asked LOL
i know you didn't ask
but I think the facebook post and story was made for the benefit of an icbc claim and no one else.

I'm amazed that my truck has never been broken into the literally 100's of times I've parked within sight of a FN reserve...

Always put a game camera on your vehicle when leaving it in the bush. I know someone who was fishing up in Bella Coola and had his truck/camper stolen. All he had was his fishing rod and what was in his pockets.

I think the chances are in favour of hunters trashing the car because it was partially blocking a road. The damage is consistent with a winch being hooked onto the fender and pulled over the hood. I know of people that had tires slashed for parking in someone's 'spot'. People are douchebags- hunters included
