Fenix HL50 Global Testing Campaign

Any CGN members interested in testing the new Fenix HL30 headlamp please see the information below:

Recently, Fenix has successfully developed its first headlamp with neutral white LED, that is, Fenix HL50, which will be launched soon. In order to make the enthusiasts be the first ones to experience the new product, we are now collecting those who are interested in participating in Fenix HL50 Global Testing Campaign. Fenix will select some participants to test the HL50 (finished products) which will be sent for free. Look forward to your participation and support!

1. Brief Introduction of HL50

Fenix HL50 is a self-contained multi-functional headlamp with strong cold resistance and neutral white light. Neutral white light means superior definition and penetration in high-humidity environments. Pop the lighting head out for handheld or keychain use with the always-ready HL50. It steps in with 365 lumens in Burst mode and the ability to use either CR123Aor AA batteries.

Required Field: "Which outdoor sports and gear websites or forums do you usually visit?(At least three, and your username and ID )"

Hey Steelplink

Fenix has told me they do not require forum ID, I think this was lost in translation.
I believe what they are looking to see is the potential reviewers participation in the forums they will use to review the headlamp should they be one of the chosen to do so

If its considered "intrinsically safe" for use where fumes could potentially ignite, then I could test it in outdoor oilfield operations. I do 12 hour shifts at night, so it would get a lot of field testing in the time available.

And it would help if it could be securely mounted to a typical industrial hardhat.

Normally my employer buys such headlamp lights. That would be 300+ for my shop alone, never mind the whole company

Hi RickR1100

Sorry to say Fenix does not offer any safety rated lights, thats not to say they wont in the future but for now they are concentrating on the outdoor market. I think the industrial market is still a little ways away

A little off-topic but as regards the outdoor market, while I see that Fenix has some weapon-mountable lights, I wonder if there's any company interest in introducing compact pistol lights/lasers, such as those made by Surefire & Streamlight etc.

Just an update I guess. I was selected as one of the global testers and received my HL-50 a few weeks ago. Ive been using it on and off for the past few weeks but have been largely away on trips. Im planning on spending some quality time with it in the next week or so and will be posting a full report on my thoughts and experiences with it.

Up front, and from the little testing I've already done, fantastic light. Super small but VERY bright, easy to use, comfortable to wear to the point you really forget about it being on your head. Being able to use CR123 OR AA batteries is great. Sometimes CR123's are hard to find in my area... but I'm never short on AA's.

Again, ill be posting more info and pics in the near future but for now, this is a fantastic and very useable little light.
