I bought a tk35 two years ago and it work fantastic. I have owned several other brands over the years but really Fenix just outperforms them.
I think I have five separate fenix products, I keep them in different places like my car and bedstand. The tk35 is the largest that I have but it's a beast of a flashlight.
I'm ont sure it's this model (g2) but regardless I'm thrilled by it. I've taken it snorkelling at night and while it has caused some rust on teh screws it has been a few years and the seals and chassis have never failed and it is as bright as day one. I think I just changed to my second set of batteries (four) recently so fyi they last for a long time.
Fenix makes great lights and this model is a super performer. I love power lights like this based upon CR123.

I haven't tried this, I picked up a couple twelve packs of cr123's off amazon last year. They are stream light brand and were cheaper that way.
I have heard of problems in other devices with rechargeable due to voltage differences. So I would check with a reliable retailer before trying if I were you.

I bought a Fenix about five years ago. It was a good light. Finish wore a bit quick. I really liked it.

As to shooting with it...I don't think the bulb/l.e.d was shock isolated. They might be now but back then I killed it within 30 rounds using it handheld with a pistol. The replacement I got died a similar death.

I use 18650s in my TK35, no problems so far. I would not mount, great light but won't stand to that kind of use.
