The wild boar thread got me reminiscing about a forum friend who has had a devil of a time dealing with wild pigs on his farm in Texas. He has a brilliant thread about his efforts stickied on thehighroad.org, and thought some of you might enjoy his adventures in hog hell!

Ever watch the show American Hoggers? It's entertaining every once in a while, and I think they are based in Texas.

they're method is not really good

what you need is a gun that will have a quick follow up shot(ak with a drum mag) and a pick up truck get close to a herd and start shooting till you drop the whole herd only way of dealing with this problem head on is to cull them

Flintknapper in the above thread baits them, traps them then dispatches them. Sure is a big issue down there. Over sized rats. He has great photos in that thread btw.

traping is good if its a pen type trap that will let more hogs in but none out but them small traps that are more like a big cage will only hold one

even if your traping you still should but culling at the same time make the number even lower

I just bought a heli-hogging hunt in Texas today. Its about 6 months overdue, but I should be there in February and those pigs aren't going anywhere soon!

I just saw a YouTube video of that. That looks like about as much fun as you can have with clothes on! The guy had an ar on a turret. That's on my bucket list.

mine is to hunt the from the back of a jeep or truck with a F/A 1919 on a mount but that would have to be in texas ;)

there is many other states to hunt them but a few have some sort of regulations
