Seeing as the government opened feral pigs in BC my question is, where are the feral pigs cause as far as I knew we didn't even have any here, I only know about the southern state and ontarios wild boars.

Nazco Hwy, west of Quesnel, escapees from someones farm.

They usually are. :) Incredibly difficult to keep in fences, especially if the owner is lazy or careless. Find a wild hog farm and ask around, one of those pests nobody wants .

Does southern ontario have a feral pig problem? I'd love to help out the farmers with pest control!

I have a prosciutto problem that only feral pigs can fix. :D

Just heard from a colleague of mine (she moved about 30 minutes east of Winnipeg) she was told there are feral pigs that move through her property.

Needless to say I quickly volunteered the services of my SVT-40 !!!

just remember don't treat them like game animals shoot as many as you can these pest are not something you want spreading

I'd like to know where they are in Ontario: I used to trap, I still shoot nuissance animals and would be keen to add the tasty sort to my repertoire.

Did you ever get the reloading sorted for the 8mm Manufacture d'armes de Saint-Étienne "Lebel"?

You are a better map reader than me. There is a road to Honolulu?

it is a really old road , used to be just a wagon trail at one time .

not hard to find ..... it has been a while since i have driven the entire road , but if it is wet out , you need a a 4x4 with good tires , a really good winch and extra cable and i'd pack a full set of tire chains ... as well as a good shovel a couple of jackalls and a chainsaw ..... and don't forget a buddy with a second truck :D .......

but this is assuming it hasn't been upgraded for hauling logs ....... if it has then every moron with a minivan could be up there ...... well until it rains hard and gets really wet :D :D :D then the minivans get used to fill the pot holes .

it is kind of sureal , a guy can be driving down a tight nasty trail in the middle of nowhere , then *POOF * come out onto what apears to be a 6 lane wide fully graveled highway .

The sie said there was no season in Ontario. I guess they want to wait until we have a real endemic hog population and major crop/environment/people damage before they open them up as pests.

From Vancouver, head East on Hwy 1.
At Hope cross the river and continue North to Kamloops, turn North to Quesnel/Prince George.(hwy 97)
At Quesnel cross the Fraser and head West for about an hour.
Stop at Sylvia's Cafe' for some good food and chat with the locals.
Your in the Hog Zone from there on in to Honolulu Rd.
Your also in the Heart of the Carrier Indian Bands Tribal land too.
Your also in the land of the World Famous Blackwater Trout range as well, so bring a fishing rod and of course the appropriate lic. as well.

Stumbled across this web page and found it interesting as well as interactive.
I will try and get a picture or two of those Feral Hogs I have spoken about in the near future.
Also be alert to wild horses roaming the Nazko Hwy, nothing like seeing a herd of 10 or more Clydesdale's running the road .
Tight Lines and Good Hunting,
Rob

I'm finding myself routing for the pigs. I'm not a hunter but the prospect of harvesting bacon and ham would get me out there. :)
