I was using 2f in my .50 cal Deerstalker, but have switched to 3f in my .54 Trade rifle. I find that 3f leaves less fouling. The best advice is try them and find out what works better.
my 58 zouave works exactly the opposite- the "better" powder is 2f, but i feed her 3f because that also works in my pistol- depends on the gun and the rifling- also musket caps instead of #11s
I have been using 60 - 70 gr of 3F in my GPR flinter, with success. 2F I use in larger bores, like my Brown Bess. In the GPR, I find that 3F is cleaner, and you get more "oomph" for fewer grains, so the powder lasts longer.
You could use either, But I think you would prefer the FFFg.If fouling is a concern, try Hoppes#9 Patch lube, you can shoot "till the cows come home" and you have a problem with fouling.
