So I just ordered an xbolt pro in 6.5 prc mostly for hunting, but also somewhat to shoot long range.

I'm looking for a lightish scope as close to 20oz as possible. I want clear glass, good zero stop and good tracking and a tree/ horus type reticle

I was thinking about the leupold LRP with the cch reticle also have looked at the primary arms slx with the bpr reticle

Those are 2 I'm looking at but are there other options and has anyone had any experience with the tracking/ glass on the primary arms slx ?

I'll just mention that selecting a fancy graduated scope only pays off if the scope is also FFP. So I suggest adding that to your requirements list.

In the title actuallythist thing in the titlehaha. But yeah I do want FFP.

List
1. Horus / tree reticle in mil. .25mil subtention preferred
2. Light as possible, 20-24oz
3. FFP
4. Good turrets ( adjustable, repeatable)

Also possibly thinking about the athlon midas tac 4-16 but it doesn't have the tree reticle also not sure about the glass I have an argos and its glass is good but I want better

Have you hunted with a ffp scope before? There are some draw backs like redical size at low magnification. I hunt with both ffp and sfp and outside of predator i find sfp more usable. But if you prefer using a tree style redical over turrets then the ffp fits the bill. If you use turrets then there is much less advantage to ffp. I have the leupold vx6hd and its pretty hard to go wrong with leupold. I also have a viper pst on my 102 and despite alot of people saying they are not reliable mine has been great as have all my vortex dots and low power scopes.

I have hunted with ffp. Right now I'm hunting with an athlon argos btr. I've been just holding over rather than using the turrets cause I didn't fully trust how accurate they were, hold over worked great. I was thinking it would be nice to have accurate turrets and the tree for when I'm long range target shooting when I run out of elevation although that won't happen a lot.

Any sfp scopes with amazing turrets you'd suggest? Sfp would save some weight too

Primary Arms 3-18 FFP mil reticle.... Best bang for your buck hands down. Check out YouTube reviews...

If you want to spend the$$ i can say the leupold vx6hd is great mine is a 3-18x50 its illuminated redical and the zero stop is very cool. For me tracking is everything if i cant run out the elevation and windage and return and keep the same poi its ot worth much. I know there are some swarovski scopes with turrets for a reasonable price but im not sure if they zero stop or how reliable the tracking is. Same with bushnell i cant recomend anything i haven't personally run.

Another vote for the Bushnell LHRS, although I think they only made them in MILS. I would also suggest looking at the Leupold VX6HD, I almost bought the 3-12X44. Great scope.

The Bushnell LRHS (if you can find one) or it's replacement, the LRTSi are great scopes (I have 3 of the 3-12x) that have good glass and track perfectly. They are in mils and come with a tree reticle (G3). They're a bit heavier than what you're looking for though at 28oz.

If you're willing to pay a bit more, I'd suggest the Leupold Mk5 3.6-18. I don't personally have experience with it (but I do have 2 of the Mk5 5-25s) but it should tick your boxes with regards to Horus/tree reticles (choice of CCH, H59, T3), tracking (both of mine track perfectly), zero stop, great glass and decent weight considering the mag range (25oz).

I do like the mk5 3.6-18 a bit out of my price range right now haha I ordered a vx-3i LRP 4.5-14 little less magnification than I wanted but nice and light. It's going to be on a browning xbolt pro so it will be mostly a hunting rifle and for that the magnification should be good. If I change my mind I'll look at some others or save my pennies for the mk5
