I don't watch the show much myself as I find the guy a bit of a jerk, but "The Weapon Hunter" is on Bell Expressvu at 9:00PM finding and shooting the "FG-42 assault rifle" if anyone is interested.

We assisted with some of his segment with the Allied firearms.

Nice enough guy, but my wife just saw the episode and asked: is he on something?

A fair amount of knowledge in his head, not just reading a script. The "sniper rifle" episode was tough for me to watch though....

I just finished watching this episode. Good show . Interesting.
But I wish he would learn muzzle control & to check that the gun is safe.
It was good to see Chuck Taylor. Met him years ago at a range when he
was testing the mini gun he built for the movie " Resident Evil "
Shooting blanks but VERY impressive to watch.

Ya the SVT-40 didn't seem to get a fair shake in the sniper rifle episode. It jammed and I didn't see any attempt to adjust the gas setting to get the rifle to run.

I would like to think that the guys at Lever would know enough to adjust the gas to get the gun to run and maybe they did adjust it off camera but they really seemed to discount it quickly without much consideration. Once you adjust it for the ammo you are using you should be good.

I would think it would be a serious contender to the Garand sniper for WW2's best sniper rifle. They both have their +'s and -'s but a 10 round mag fed semi with adjustable gas system may trump a en bloc clip fed 8 round semi. I do own both but in service rifle guise not sniper.
