While waiting for my PAL/RPAL to come, I went to a gun shop today to window shop. As I was checking out rifles, I've noticed that my eyes have a bit of a hard time focusing (seeing) the sights well. My first rifle I'm getting (through my brother) is a Lakefield MK2. Was wondering if anyone has put front and rear fiber optic sights on one before and if they actually help with people with poorer eyesight? I will eventually put a scope on it, but for a while I want to use iron sights (or fiber optic). Plan on using it for target shooting at 20 yards (indoor) and maybe try competition with it (one of those factory equipment ones).

Any one know of where I can get some? Anything I've found so far has been for other brands (not even Savage)?

Thanks,

Savage makes a mark ii model with fiberoptic sites contact them in Canada and order a set they are usually pretty good with supplying parts which should work fine with older models. I have a set of fiber sights on a 10/22 and like them more than using a red dot. Just line the 3 dots under my target with good accuracy to 40 yrds. If you cant find a contact send me a pm and i can look through my email when i get a chance to get an address for you.

Another thought give williams a call their customer service is excellent.

The stock fiber optic sights are quite large and cover alot of target. The last one i had covered most of a page of paper at 25 yards. Made accurate shooting difficult. Ok for rattling a pop can
