I'm new to fiber optic sights, but thought "hey, i'll give them a try" when I had Zev Tech build my Glock.

I cannot for the life of me seem to get these goddamn things aligned properly when I'm out at the range. My trigger pull is only 2.5 lbs, so i'm having a hard time blaming my trigger finger for putting my shots all over the place. I'm used to shooting 3 dots on my Sigs, and I don't know what I'm doing wrong with these. The tube doesn't fill up the notch in the rear sights like the 3 dots do, and I think i'm having a tough time adjusting between the two.

I have a laser trainer thing at home, and if I align the very top of the front sight blade with the top of the rears, it shows the POI of the laser *just* a hair to the right of where the tube dot shows it should hit. I doubt the laser trainer is the gospel truth, but at least it shows that it's not the sight alignment that's messed up.

I'm contemplating switching to Trijicon HD's unless I can get this figured out. Has anyone else had similar issues switching to fiber optics?

For reference, here's what I've got right now: http://zevtechnologies.com/Products...5-Fiber-Optic-Front-Combat-v2-Black-Rear.html

The FO is there to bring your focus to the front sight you should be aligning the front sight in the rear with equal amounts of empty space and the top of the front aligned with the top of the rear. I have had the Zevs on a couple of guns before I switched to Dawson adjustables and had no issues with them.

Zev offered me different combinations of the width size of the front post and the size of the width of the rear notch. So its possible you ordered or got different size combinations that have more space shown between the front and rear sight alignment. The FO is just there to help you focus on the front post, you still need to align the front and rear sights to have an equal amount of space on either side. You dont want the FO insert to fill the complete width of the rear sight notch. The amount of space there should be will be determined by your combination of front and rear sight width

I got used to what they gave me, but I did not do much shooting before converting to FO....After switching I much prefer the plain rear sight and a single FO front post

I have Tijicon night sights on another one of my GLocks, got that before teh Zev sights, they are good but I dont like them any more then the Zev FO sights. I can easily adapt to both, and every gun I own has different sight alignment, so I am always adapting to slightly different sights when I shoot my different Glocks

Maybe FO isnt the best for you, but IMO they are better for me, then the stock Glock sights

I have had a few different types of sights, including the Zev Techs. I prefer the TruGlo Fiber Optic Brite Sights.

I have 3 sets of them (on 2 Glocks and an M&P9). The FO fit perfectly between each other. Front FO is red, rear FOs are green, very easy to pick up. I get them for $58.99 from Brownells, and have seen them in stock for around $90 in some local retail stores.

I have a hard time with a notch style rear sight, don't pick it up nearly as quickly as front and rear FOs.

Fiber Optics are great for speed shooting but not so great for serious accuracy. Black front sights are the best for that in most cases unless you're getting old and having a hard time focusing at front sight distance.
