Fiber Optics for XD

I'm looking for a set of sights for an XD. Would love to find a matched set of Dawson's with their fixed rear, but would settle for a front FO that works with the factory rear. Can anyone help me out? Anyone know who's got some? Thanks.
 
Unfortunately, Dawson won't ship to Canada. Tried Double Tap (the Canadian Dawson dealer), but they have none in stock. Put an order in, but may be ??? till they can get them.
 
Hi there... I purchased a set of TruGlo BriteSite Tritium/fiber optic sites for my XD9 from a guy here in Winnipeg. He ordered them from the States for me. I was happy until about 200 rounds and the front optic tube fell out. I glued it back in but the tritium no longer illumincated it in the dark. I figured ok.. i will still use the front sight as a fiber optic only but after another 200 rounds one of the back fiber optic tubes also fell out. I just put back the original sites and painted the front dot with a really bright shade of orange nail polish (curteosy of my finance). Works just as well IMHO.

I am not happy at spending $160 for a sight that fell apart after 400 rounds.. Stay away from TruGlo... They are crap.
 
Hi-Viz works with the factory rear and ships direct to Canada.

Have fun getting the old one off, though. The XD is notorious for this.
 
Thanks for the heads up about TruGlo.

As for putting the stock one back on, that's not an option. I know what you mean about how tight the sights on the XD are. I ended up cutting the front one with a dremel to get it off in the first place, so it's not going back on. I guess I'll look into the HiViz.
 
Just go to Brownells website and search for "XD".

Dawson may not be an (exportable) option, but there are (exportable) others.
 
Thanks Wendell, but I've checked Brownells and their selection is pretty thin. I think they carry one by Williams Gun Sight, but it looks a little goofy.

I'm going with the HiViz. Thanks for your help everyone!
