What paints do I use? Krylon? And do I need to primer or use something before painting?

I do airbrushing as a hobby. Can I airbrush the Krylon?

Thanks

i just used a spray can of flat black krylon, and a coat of flat clear krylon, very happy with the results, and it seems very durable. regardless if it does get beat-up just re-spray it. its cheap enough.

+1

Don't know if Krylon comes in anything other than a spray can. It's cheap and easy and even I can do it. Here are mine. The top one needs a coat of flat. I have one more stock to do: any suggestions on a camo scheme that's not too complicated?

If you use Krylon Camo Brown it'll look very close to the original colour of the USGI stock. That’s what I did and it's almost an exact match to the fiberglass so if the finish starts to rub off you'll just see the brown underneith.

I still like the look and feel of the wood better but wanted a spare incase the wood cracks. I didn't want to be left with nothing.

How durable is the wood anyway? - anyone used it hard and had it last?
