On the way to the range yesterday I was telling my daughter that I'd been sniffing around the idea of an SL8, that I had sent someone on CGN a PM about one for sale but that I hadn't heard back, that it would be nice to have a H+K in the safe etc etc.
Well, as the fates would have it we set up our benches next to another range regular who happend to have with him his... guess what..yes his SL8-5. I went all oooh and ahhh and pointed out to daughter that there was the current object of my attention. Daughter smiled tolerantly but, quite properly, ignored her Old Man - after all she was there to shoot
Coincidence is as coincidence is, the SL8-5 owner was talking to another member about selling said SL8. So, and thanking the Gun Gods for headsets with microphones that allow you to hear conversations, I jumped in with both feet - ten mins later after doing the deal on a handshake, I was writing a cheque and we will be calling her into the CFC tomorrow.
I'm thinking scope will come off the AR which will wear, again, the Aimpoint and the SL8 will be scoped (fixed 10x) as the 200+m Black Rifle
