field duck decoys

Never used a robo-duck but Goose decoys work fine for field shooting ducks. We like the super magnum size. They seem to draw birds better and make the blinds look smaller in relation to real size. Birds have eyes on the side of their head as so, have excellent peripheral vision but , I suspect, poor depth perception.

I found a dozen for a great deal at CT. I repainted them and use them on water hunts. They really stand out and I believe they make a difference. I have some long stakes and even use them in 2 or 3 feet of water. There is nothing more relaxed looking then ducks up on shore and I think mallards look for a spot they can get out of the water. There is some logs in one spot I hunt so I make it look like they are up on the logs resting.

Goose decoys and mojos are your huckleberry in the fields.
