Field dug Helmet

What do you guys think? I don't know if this is a battlefield pic-up or not, I got this up for $5 a few years ago. I thought it might be british, I took pics of them sided by side for referance. Any ideas what this is?
*note: 3 rivets on top are copper, and there is no edge around the rim

Could be the remains of an M15 "Brodie". Early model.

Certainly looks like a battlefield bring back, not too shabby either in regards to the shape. I don't know if it will hold up under shrapnel fire though .

If there are 3 rivets in the top then something has happened to it. Should be one, in the crown.
