I have tried a variety of printed forms for recording field notes while precision shooting. None thus far have been satisfactory because they lack the flexibility to record shots and adjustments following shots.

Sure, most pre-printed logs have spaces for "rifle, load, range," etc., and environmental data, and they do a good job of organizing that information. But I am looking for a template that organizes shot and MRAD adjustment data to make it easier to track and reference later. Suggestions, and a sheet layout, would be helpful.

Sounds like you may be looking for a target print of what PALMA/TARGET RIFLE shooters use for shooting 300-1000 yds without scopes. (I think F-class shooters may use the same format? Look up ICFRA TR Targets). The page has a target with MOA lines on it. Beside the target there is data info (date-ammo-rifle etc) and a place to log your score (1-15 shots). This includes ELEV and WIND for each shot (write in what your scope/sights were set at for the shot). Some include your guess about what the wind was doing for that shot. All you need to do is pencil on the target, your shot #, then at the side record what you had on your sights (elev/wind) and wind call. A friend printed some off for me (300-500-600-800-900-1000) on paper that is about 6"x8" so it's easy to manage. Hope this helps.

The long range precision shooters use two forms of books. The long standing tradition is to plot each shot and record the knobs, and the call. This sometimes loses "the bubble" in fast changing conditions. The more recent arrival is a plotting board with sliders or moving overlay. Each shot gets recorded, but the field itself moves over the target diagram. Search for non sponsors Mil-Cun for a better description of the Ouija Boards the DCRA TR and F Class shooters are using.

I️ am also looking for a log like this. Could you point me in the right direction.

Thanks Jeff
