Fierce Firearm

The pictures of them look good, it's too bad the delivery dates are being pushed back from original promises, my edge ti was to be late july or early august, now I am not sure. I know one other guy who ordered a 300 rum, pretty sure his delivery was suposed to be May, but I would need to ask again. I heard they got a pretty big order of rifles once the new "edge" model hit the magazine cover, I believe Corlanes ordered something like 70 rifles alone. For John Mogle it will sure help when you are involved with a magazine to get your name out there, now he needs to deliver on his promises. They have a FB page, but several of the pictures with animals down naming the edge rifle don't look right to me, they look like the remington actioned "Fury" they sell. I guess time will tell what happens to Fierce firearms.

For the 85 action clone, I would guess they changed it just enough to get by, the same as stiller and so many other manufacturers have with the rem 700 clones.

I love my Sako 85s so I made a point of getting a firsthand look at the Fierce rifles. What I had in hand was just another Finnlight, only it had a sticker price of almost 3 times what I paid for my current rifle. The possibility of a Titanium action; if I were concerned with counting ounces is cool, but it's still just a mirrored copy of what I already own. The big difference is that my Finnlight only cost me $1400 and my Bavarian was $1500, and both shoot cloverleaf groups at 200m. The carbon wrapped barrel seems like a high tech response to improving accuacy on light barrels, but My stock Finnlight already turns out beautiful, benchrest accuracy with shelf ammo. Being simply an identical copy of a rifle that already comes off the shelf with rather high quality, and having a big jump in price keeps my vote with the Sako 85.

I like the idea of a titanium sako but I would be ordering a bare action for the $1200. I can order a mcmillan edge, and barrel of my choice for much less than their complete rigs.

I just received mine. The receiver looks similar to the 85 action with a few slight changes. The fit and finish is really nice. The only quirk that I have is that the fluting on the barrel isn't indexed to the receiver. I talked to fierce and none of there rifles have indexed fluting. The other problem if you can call it that is the muzzle brake was locktited in place. It was no big deal but more of a inconvenience. So your thinking what rifle did he buy. I bought the Fury Edge in 300 WM. with 26" barrel. Then I added a Ti muzzle brake when added to the barrel makes the barrel 27 3/4" long. I also had the stock dipped in camouflage and came a limbsaver recoil pad already attached.
Overall quite pleased and it only took 4 months from the time I ordered it to having it in my hands.
I'm planning on ordering another in 26 Nosler later on in the fall.

Thanks for the review. Would you say the action is built to tighter tolerances than the sako 85 or similar?

The action is nice and tight. I have a Sako 85 Greywolf and the Fierce is a bit tighter than the Sako that I have.
They also sent the test target with the reloading info marked on it. So reloading should be a bit easier if you want to use the same bullet weight.

Digging this thread back up…

Would anybody here like to chime in on their Fierce rifles they acquired last year? I’m considering a CT Edge model but am torn between that, the Proof Research Summit and Christensen Arms Summit Carbon. All are similar weight and specs. I’m thinking .300 WSM.

I still haven't gotten mine. Suposedly on the built rack in Quebec three weeks ago...

But I do know someone who recieved a 7mag in an carbon barreled edge, scoped it with a nightforce. I have seen the groups it shot with amax bullets and the 5 shot groups were under half moa. Fit and finish of the rifle not as good as some other factory rifles. And the sako 85 mag fits and feeds better than the fierce mag.

Thx LongBomber. When you get yours can you please reply here! I’m very curious.

Save your money !! I had one for 2 weeks and got rid of it. For $3350 you can buy a Sako and a really nice scope and actually have a nice gun. Pick up a Sako and a Fierce and take a really close look at both of them and you will see where Fierce is lacking in QC.

They are good from far but far from good!!!

I see they now changed the carbon look of the barrel. The originals used a proof research wrap look and now the new ones use the same carbon wrap look the Christensen arms had. So are these newer barrels Remington blanks now? I was told they were McGowan wraped which they say use a better procedure than proof research. Any truth to this?
