Picked one up in 308 Win some time ago. Curious what folks experience has been with this rifle.

I’ve had a heck of a time getting mine to shoot. Have tried Barnes TTSX 180, 150 & LRX 175. Nosler RDF 175 and also Sierra 155 TMK. All bullets I simply had on hand. Used 2-4 powders per bullet. Barnes were all unimpressive. The TMK shows potential at 1.25 - 1.5” groups.

I’ve just not had this difficultly with any other rifle to get them moa or sub moa pretty easily. Both factory and custom re barrels.

Only other thought is I removed the brake right off the start. Had one previous occurrence where a rifle shot much improved with out the muzzle device. Perhaps I put the brake back on ? Something with harmonics ?

Sorry for the long post. Just want to see if others have had a similar experience with the Fierce Rogue.

308 Win us a cartridge that will shoot WELL in a rifle with a lot of different bullets and powders .Its not known as being FUSSY like other cartridges. I have now a few 308s and have a LOT of them over the years . you can have many problems with that rifle But I will assume your scope and scope amounting is All good . Bedding of any rifle is a big factor too .
Now comes the barrel as it really affects Accuracy. Better have knowledgeable person bore scope it and see how it looks inside . Sometimes all can be good and they still won’t shot as good as you would like them too 🤷🏼‍♂️🤪. JMO RJ

Fussy is one way to put it. Rings are MDT and scope is NF , both are solid with no issues. I don’t suspect anything sinister so haven’t bore scoped it. It’s does “group” , with no odd strings. Maybe it’s just my expectations that need adjustment.

3 or 5 shot groups? Is the barrel carbon? Any stick powders? Maybe it doesn't like copper bullets. As for the tmk maybe it likes heavier jacketed bullets. Rdfs are known to be iffy. random damn fliers. Can't go wrong with Hornaday 168gr M or Eldmx, or 168gr Sierra's.

I’m inpatient and wanting to save on some resources, so 3 shot groups. I do understand shot dispersion , just haven’t had issues with previous rifles. Yes, it’s a carbon barrel. My only one. Can’t recall the powders at this point, I’d have to check my loading room. Haven’t played with coal but it’s a hinged floor plate , so I don’t think I have a ton of room outside of making it a single shot.

Even though it’s new, give that barrel a really thorough cleaning and remove all the copper residue and get it down to the bare metal. Make sure the action is seated correctly in the stock and torque it to what ever specs fierce specifies, check the torque on the rail and rings etc and just make sure everything is double checked and gif wit another shot.

It’s been a while, so I figured maybe time to update this. Being the dummy that I am .. I hadn’t messed around with coal … stretched them out a touch and the Rogue shoots just fine.

It’s a floor plate magazine so hadn’t crossed my mind to tweak the coal. But it worked. The TMK shot just like this as well.

I did not have the chrono out on this day.
