I've been trying to get my spare PMags to fit in my Type 97, and while it seems to fit well, it doesn't want to *click* and engage the latch or whatever that holds it from falling out. Anybody here care to pass on their expertise? How should I file the mag down/in what spot?

Might want to do it by hand. Less chance of taking off too much. Your problem may not be then same as the other guy, so make sure before you start. You should be able to tell if the spine is causing some resistance. If your mags drop free then I doubt it's the spine.
yeah, I had to file down the side to make them drop free from my CC IUR complete rifle. I used a flat metal file and did it BY HAND until it worked properly, then I took measurements and did the rest of them in much less time. Don't break out the dremel!

It seems every T97 is a little bit different. My one takes gen 2 Pmags pretty good.
