Gents; when using the Dacron "hollow fill", do you find any unusual fouling in the bore and inside the spent cases? Further, do you have to clean the brass before reloading?
I don't use the dacron filler or a wad with the fast to medium burning "fast" pistol /shotgun type powders. I find one of these fast burning powders that is fast enough to ignite and burn efficiently at the velocity I want and avoid using a filler with them.
This is the philosophy I follow for the one low-charge round I fire. It isn't a low charge as far as low end of the spectrum, but more low charge as it relates to case fill. I use 10gr of Unique under a 145gr cast bullet in the 6.5 Carcano. When I first started loading for it I was slightly concerned about the amount of airspace in the case, but after 350-400 rounds I have yet to see any excessive pressure signs or similar and I haven't had any issues with delayed or non-existent ignitions
