Looking for guidance regarding unused tapped holes in a firearm receiver.
I previously asked the question in Optics regarding screw sizes so I am that far.
Is it usual to fill unused holes in a receiver (for both aesthetics and protect from dirt / water)?
If one were to use something like a set screw, any worry that it will
imbed itself deeper and perhaps cause function issues or back out? Semi permanent Loctite?
Appreciate the tips

Use plug screws, the kind with a head. Should be readily available from gun part dealers.

The headed set screws usually protrude and grab cloth when wiping... I prefer short headless set screws with a daub of blue Loctite. Easy to remove later but they stay set...
