Decided to switch out my antelope load for an upcoming hunt. Here's what I've ended up with.

Cooper 280AI, 61gr IMR7828 SSC, Nosler AB 140 gr @0.025" off lands.
Gives me 3115 fps

Thanks to those that gave me advice. This is at 200m

Outstanding............perfect load for a 280 in my opinion........now sight it right on the mark at 300 mtrs and you can hit out to 500 mtrs with very little hold over.............Dem ankleopies in deep chit now !!!!

You'll have to check zero when you get wherever your hunting anyway. The baggage monkey's aren't gentle with anything.

that sounds like perfect antelope medicine. I would love to hunt them again. They are one of my favorite species to hunt as well as eat! I hope one day they return to the big game draw here in sk.

In this case I'm driving. HECK of a long drive to Wyoming from the Toronto area (about 24 hours) but I'm really looking forward to the drive out west as much as anything. That said, will be checking zero at the outfitters the night before the hunt.

I've finally decided that I do like my Swaro Z5 scope after all! Eye relief is always the issue for me; I require TONS for some bizzare reason. Last week I move the scope as close as I possibly could towards the butt and now I have a clear picture every time my cheek is on the stock. I guess I will hang on to these Swaro's after all as the glass is darn good.

If you live at an elevation of say, 700 feet above sea level, and plan to hunt in the Gillette or Douglas areas of Wyoming, make sure you sight in your 280AI once you arrive at the ranch you will be hunting on......You will be hunting at an elevation of close to, or over, 5000 feet above sea level.....and POI can change enough to result in a miss or bad hit on an animal with a kill zone about the size of the monitor screen on your computer......

My 270 Winchester printed 2 inches higher at 100 yards than when I sighted the rifle in back in Manitoba....

Good luck and if you are in Douglas, stop by the Labonte Inn for their great dinner and buffet...
